California "Assault" Weapon Ban
California has passed several new bills that put even more unconstitutional restrictions on their citizens who wish to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. These new restrictions include background checks for ammunition purchases, broadening of the "assault" weapon definition to include AR-15s with bullet buttons, and the ability for private persons to file a "gun violence restraining order" against another person which strips them of their 2nd Amendment rights.
What does this mean for Californians? These laws will go into effect on January 1, 2017, and Californians will have up until this date to acquire new "assault" weapons, and a one year window to register them once the law goes into effect. Click HERE for a comprehensive list of all the new California gun laws that go into effect next year.
So what can you do to make sure you get your CA249 before the ban? MGA will be selling CA249 receivers through our website and dealers. There will be two receivers available. One will be a complete receiver that needs no modification, and only needs to have it's operating parts installed, and there will be an incomplete receiver which meets the ATF's definition of a firearm, and will need to be sent in to MGA for completion at a later date.

This gun is based on our MGA Mk46™, but is configured as a "featureless rifle" as defined by California Department of Justice rules and is currently still legal for purchase in California - but that may change soon.
Belt-fed firearms were expected to no longer be sold in California starting DECEMBER 31, 2013, but that ban was postponed indefinitely.
A new law is expected to pass soon, so we encourage California residents to purchase ASAP.
The MGA CA249™ is a closed-bolt, belt-fed rifle. The base model is a multi-caliber receiver without magazine well, with an AR-style fixed butt stock, a railed top cover without iron sights, MOD 0 feed tray, and without bipod or forward rail system. An upgraded model is also available that comes with a bipod, mod 1 feed tray, rail/sight top cover, and other features.
(NOTE: caliber conversion kits, spare parts, optics and more are available on our PARTS FOR SALE page):
All of our rifles are coated with a PTFE finish and use H&K style trigger groups.
This gun is shipped with our newest PATENT-PENDING semi-auto operating group (named G3.SA Mk4) which uses standard Heckler & Koch® G3-style trigger packs. The new operating group uses standard Heckler & Koch® hammers, not the old custom-made long hammers.
The base rifle (pictured above) is a starting point for customers who already have their own SAW accessories. The rifle will come without a hand guard, heat shield, or bipod, and is our most cost-conscious option. The rifle does come with a grip cover to meet California requirements, barrels will have flash hiders replaced with muzzle brakes, and will only be shipped with a fixed stock.
All MGA firearms come with a two year limited lifetime warranty. Click HERE for warranty information.
